RE: Fed Govt WK/volunteer process

Has anyone ever called and been told, "Come on down!" or is it always a long process?
For me and the COE it was "Come on down" Its quick and easy. maybe get interviewed on phone. Show up at your site. Sign a few papers maybe take a driver saftey course on the internet so you can drive gvt trucks and your good to go.

RE: Toilet emitting odor but it's holding water

I would get that nasty smell sometimes, and it was bad when we flushed. I think if the wind was blowing just right, it blew down the vent pipe.
Guy parked next to me had the same problem. We got 1 of these from walmart for $18.
Cyclone Sewer Vent
So far so good.

RE: Using 30 amp service on a 50 amp Fifth Wheel

No problem if ya watch what you use. I spend more time on 30 amp than 50 amp.

RE: Do you lock your RV?

Had a lady here in the park that had just bought a new Casitas. Somehow she managed to lock herself out of her trailer. She wanted me to see if i could get the door off. Before i grabbed my tools i tried my rv keys on her lock. Should of seen the look on her face when my keys worked, Then i realized her key would work in my door! . I think you need to change your locks for a really secure RV.

RE: new awning

I would not worry about the holes, theres many good products out there for that. At worst you might be able to see the old holes up close, depending on what they use.

RE: Carrier on PBS

I saw it all, I liked "hour 7" doing recoveries at night and in heavy seas. I thought it weird that some crew were acting like heavy seas where rare. I was on that boat 93-95 and it wasnt unusual for the deck to be pitching like that.

RE: Young Beginner

Chicks dig campers, i say go for it before gas is $7 a gallon. Maybe keep your camper at a friends. I Find it hard to believe you dont know anyone that likes to camp/party/fish. Maybe you could join a camping club.

RE: Crushed stone ??

Been rehabing sites here at the lake im working at. Using road base does pack in hard and smooth but your always tracking white powder or white mud when its wet. It does make a mess in your camper.
On 1 site we put a layer of 3/4" rock over the road base. Time will tell if it works. Smaller rock seems to wash away in heavy rains.

RE: metal detectors

Practice, practice, practice. Perferably in sandy/soft soil so you dont get discouaged right away. learn what the different targets sound like campared to your screen. The screen is just an educated guess.
Research your search areas for maximum booty, old houses, old state fair grounds, train/stagecoach stations, beach area's, around old trees.
Take your time, get permission for pvt proprety, fill in your holes, get on a metal detection forum and learn.....Have Fun!!
